There are a lot of methods out there for creating a brilliant organic garden. All it takes is a little research, and some strategic implementation.
Try to put an aspirin in the water to get rid of plant diseases. Dissolve one and one-half aspirins into two gallons of cold water, and use it to fortify your plants. All you need to do is spray the plants with the solution in order to battle common ailments. Use this method every three weeks.
Gardeners who are intrigued by the ideas of organic and sustainable methods should think about designating a portion of their landscape to support native plants and animals. Doing this will allow creatures that help plants to produce and pollinate to continue their actions, which will have a positive effect on the garden you develop.
If you are planning to grow plants within the house, the temperature should be maintained between 65 and 75 degrees within the daylight hours. Young plants need a temperature within that specific range to grow. If this is a little too warm for your house, grow your organic plants under a heat lamp.
One way to ensure efficiency while gardening is to keep your tools close by. Carry your tools in a bucket, or keep them in the pockets of a pair of rugged pants. You should always have your gloves, pruning shears and a trowel close to you.
Use approximately two or three inches of natural, organic material as some mulch in every single flower bed. Not only will you be adding nutrients, but weeds will be less likely to grow and moisture will be retained more easily. This also gives your flower beds a more aesthetic aspect.
When working in the garden, try to work as efficiently as possible. One of the biggest time wasters is not keeping track of your tools and having to look for them every time you need them. Have all of your tools gathered and prepared for use before you work in the garden, and make sure to put them away neatly. Even something like a carpenter’s tool belt or some cargo jeans work well to keep tools organized.
Laundry Basket
When you want to harvest the produce in your organic garden, always have an old laundry basket to hand. A laundry basket will act as a strainer for your produce. You can clean and rinse the harvest when it is the laundry basket and the water will go out of the holes.
Consider solving your weed problem without the use of toxic chemicals. Use several layers of newspapers for weed control. Weeds need sun for growth, just like any other plant. Newspapers placed atop weeds will starve them from light and they will eventually die. Newspapers also break down over time, becoming part of your compost. You can then add a mulch layer right on top so that it looks more attractive.
A superior garden can be created when one has adequate knowledge about how they can render the most from their plants. Implement these important concepts in building a truly organic garden.
